Park Mark awarded to intu Potteries for 16 consecutive years
Shoppers can be assured that they’re in very safe hands when visiting intu Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, as the team is celebrating the achievement of the Park Mark, Safer Parking Scheme award for 16 years running! Plus, they have been awarded Park Mark status for the surface car park adjacent to its leisure complex which includes 7 restaurants and a 9-screen cinema.
A Park Mark is awarded to parking facilities that pass a rigorous risk assessment conducted by the police and the British Parking Association. The assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, ensuring that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness. These criteria are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
Michael Gardner, British Parking Association area manager, said: “these well managed car parks have consistently achieved the award which is testament to the hard work and professionalism shown by the staff that support these car parks, and should be congratulated”.
The multi-storey and surface car parks were assessed for quality management, appropriate lighting, effective surveillance and a clean environment. intu Potteries was also complimented on its car parks’ physical appearance, the centre’s management practices and on its close working relationship with the local police in anticipating and managing vehicle crime issues.
intu Potteries will continue to be listed on the Park Mark website, parkmark.co.uk. Michael Steele, operations manager at intu Potteries said “intu Potteries are immensely proud, in once again, achieving the very high standards required to be awarded the Safer Parking Park Mark Award. The award is testimony to the work ethic and dedication demonstrated by the intu team”.
